Broken Conviasa plane delays tourists in Cuba

Hundreds of tourists from St. Petersburg are stranded in Cuba after a Conviasa aircraft experienced a technical failure.

Due to a breakdown of a Conviasa aircraft, hundreds of tourists from St. Petersburg cannot leave Cuba. The flight scheduled for Friday was canceled, and the next departure attempt is set for January 24.

The Russian Union of Travel Industry reported on its Telegram channel: «According to preliminary information, the aircraft»s departure is scheduled for today at 18:00 local time. At 15:00, tour operators will organize the transfer of tourists from hotels to the airport.«

Due to the delay, tourists« hotel stays have been extended. The incident also led to the postponement of flight V0 3788 from St. Petersburg to Cuba, which was scheduled to depart at 22:30. The new departure time has not yet been announced, and on the Pulkovo Airport board, the flight is marked as »delayed.«
