The incident occurred on the evening of July 19 on Polevaya Street. The child was washing an ATV in the yard. They used a household pressure washer connected to the mains via a homemade extension cord.
While he was working, it began to rain. The boy decided to disconnect the equipment and started pulling the plug out of the extension cord. At that moment, he was electrocuted.
An ambulance was called. Paramedics tried to revive him but could not save the child; he died at the scene.
The photo released by the department shows a Resanta MR-200 P pressure washer. It is a household appliance with a power of 2500 watts, operating from a standard 220-volt outlet, and is sold in hardware stores.
In the passport for products of this series, the manufacturer directly warns: the extension cord must be moisture-proof, the socket should be equipped with a residual current device (RCD) rated at 30 milliamps, and the plug and socket must not be touched with wet hands. A separate point in the manual states that minors are not allowed to operate the pressure washer.
The Investigation Committee echoed this after the tragedy: homemade electrical devices are life-threatening, especially when used outdoors in wet weather.
The department clarified that the family was not under preventive supervision. Investigators are now determining all the circumstances of the incident.
In May 2026, NGS24.RU reported that a 13-year-old boy died at Bogotol station — he climbed onto the roof of a freight car and came into contact with overhead power lines.
