Body Fragment Discovered After UAV Strike in Adygea

In the village of Novaya Adygea, efforts continue to address the aftermath of the attack, which damaged residential buildings and vehicles. Nine people remain hospitalized, while four others refused admission. Near the damaged building in the «Megi» area, construction workers and administration officials are working daily to assess the damage and restore housing. Compensation has been promised for cars, but no specific amounts have been discussed yet.

The portal 93.RU has compiled all the latest information on the incident.

What work is being done on site?

Recall that the attack occurred on the night of January 20–21. Residents of Krasnodar and Adygea heard three loud explosions, and a fire broke out in the village of Novaya Adygea. The fire started in a multi-story building and in the parking lot, engulfing vehicles. For more details on what happened at the scene, read our report.

Asker Savv, head of the Takhtamukaysky District of Adygea, stated that authorities have received over 800 claims for property damage, primarily apartments. Besides glazing, there are more serious damages. The second entrance of one of the buildings, with 30 apartments, was the most affected. However, load-bearing partitions were not damaged: the blast wave shattered windows and doors, destroying other personal items that have been promised to be restored.
Between two sections is a large parking lot where many cars burned. Some are so severely damaged that specialists cannot even identify the model: an examination will be required. A meeting has already been held with car owners, and they were promised assistance. But when exactly and for what amounts is unknown.
Savv clarified that the current main goal is to return people to their apartments. Immediately after the attack, authorities led by Murat Kumpilov held a meeting with all major developers in Adygea. They were instructed to temporarily halt work on their own projects to help at the incident site. A total of 30 apartment buildings were damaged. They were divided into sectors and assigned to construction companies, each firm receiving its own work front. Builders together with officials are conducting apartment inspections to determine exactly what needs repair. The district head noted that it is important to access all apartments, but some owners are still absent. He asked people to come to the site if possible to resolve repair issues.
Also, about 40 residents of the private sector submitted claims for property damage, mainly broken windows—they too were promised help, but currently all efforts are focused on restoring apartments.
51 people passed through the temporary accommodation center, and 26 citizens remain there now. Immediately after the attack, residents of eight buildings were evacuated, but the next day, they were allowed to return to seven buildings. People are still not permitted into the most damaged section, but earlier they were allowed to enter their apartments with a commission to retrieve valuable items and vacate the housing for builders.
Due to rain with wet snow starting in the region, restoring the roofing is a top priority. According to Savv, the roof will take up to five days. Manufacturing plastic windows will also take time: builders take measurements and send them to factories. Currently, everything is sealed with film and tape to retain heat as much as possible.
Who was injured and killed?
A total of 13 people were injured, four of them immediately refused hospitalization. Currently, nine people remain in hospitals: some in Krasnodar, some in Enem and other republican institutions.
According to Savv, a fragment of a body was found at the site, but it is not yet clear what it is. The Investigative Committee is handling the case and has ordered a DNA examination to identify the remains.
«The explosion was quite powerful, nothing else [referring to body fragments] has been found so far. We assumed maybe under the burned cars, maybe inside the cars we would find something—nothing was found. We completely moved all the vehicles, cleared the area. Inside the premises, everything was inspected on the first night. There is definitely no one, and 100% no one died. What happened on the parking lot—was a question. To understand, we quickly lifted the cars, studied inside. No human remains were found anywhere, except for one fragment. What will happen next—a roll call was ordered so that the management company makes a maximum roll call among the people who live there. So far, there is no information among people that anyone is missing,» explained the district head.
What compensation will people receive?
Authorities stated that there are certain compensation measures in Adygea, but it was immediately clear that they would not be enough. Therefore, the republic made a non-standard decision: to fully restore all apartments. This includes everything: windows, doors, electrical and water supply, walls, and so on.
What additional financial support people will receive—is still unclear.
Regarding cars, the head of the republic, Murat Kumpilov, promised people compensation. But again, it is not yet known what amounts are involved.
«Overnight, our fellow countrymen lost their personal vehicles. The incident that occurred is a sad event, and people are not to blame; they became victims of circumstances. We will definitely find a solution for the cars, implement compensation payments to support the victims,» stated Kumpilov.

Also, owners of apartments currently outside the republic are asked to contact this number. This is important so that the commission can adjust the work. The call center operates on weekdays from 08:00 to 20:00 and on weekends from 08:00 to 14:00.
