Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, has taken personal control over the investigation of a criminal case concerning the death of an infant at a hospital in the Trans-Ural region, the committee«s press service reported.

A resident of Kurgan Oblast wrote a comment on the account of the reception office of Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia A. I. Bastrykin on the social network VKontakte. She reported that she was hospitalized in January 2022. The woman gave birth to children in serious condition. One of the infants died shortly afterward in the intensive care unit. None of the medical professionals have been held accountable for the child«s death so far.

In Kurgan Oblast, investigators are handling a criminal case. Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin has instructed Sergei Stepanov, head of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Kurgan Oblast, to report on the progress of the investigation.
