Bastrykin demands probe into medics leaving patient outside

Information appeared online that a Pyatigorsk resident who had health problems was returned from the hospital to his home without receiving proper care. Later, law enforcement took an interest in the story, and today it became known that Alexander Bastrykin demanded a report on the results of the investigation.

Reminder: According to the Investigative Committee of Stavropol Krai, on the morning of January 30, a 54-year-old man was taken to a medical facility due to an exacerbation of a chronic disease. He had an attack. However, on the night of the 31st, ambulance staff returned the man to his home without taking him inside. There was no hospitalization.

According to law enforcement, the man is now back in the hospital, where his diagnosis is being clarified and treatment strategy is being determined. Nevertheless, the Investigative Committee has opened an investigation into possible crimes under Article 124 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Failure to Provide Care to a Patient) and Article 118 (Causing Serious Harm to Health through Negligence).

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin instructed acting head of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region, Sidorov, to report on the progress and preliminary results of the investigation.
