Bashkirian captain posthumously awarded Hero of Russia title

A 27-year-old guard captain from Bashkiria who was killed in the special military operation has been posthumously awarded the title Hero of Russia by presidential decree.

The family of Vladislav Bocharov, a guard captain from Bashkiria who was killed in the special military operation, has been presented with the Star of the Hero of Russia. The title was posthumously awarded to him by decree of the country«s president, Vladimir Putin.
Vladislav was from Beloretsk in Bashkiria, graduated school with a gold medal, and then studied at the Ryazan Airborne School and served in the marine infantry of the Baltic Fleet. In the special military operation, he became a reconnaissance company commander and was killed in March 2025 at the age of 27.
«His skilled actions helped destroy enemy weaponry and military equipment, and clear minefields. Risking his life, he repeatedly participated in evacuating wounded comrades,» said the head of Bashkiria, Radii Khabirov, during the presentation of the star to the deceased«s parents.
The ceremony was also attended by the commander of the Baltic Fleet, Admiral Sergei Lipilin. Previously, Bocharov had been awarded the Order of Courage, medals «For Bravery» and Ushakov, as well as the medal «For Combat Distinction». He is buried in his hometown of Beloretsk.
