In Arkhangelsk, young hockey players from Sverdlovsk Oblast were hospitalized with an intestinal infection. Eight children fell ill. Rospotrebnadzor, Russia«s consumer rights watchdog, inspected the restaurant where the schoolchildren ate.

During the inspection of the restaurant «Olivie,» numerous violations of sanitary legislation and technical regulation laws were identified.

As reported by the Rospotrebnadzor department for Arkhangelsk Oblast, the production and sales conditions posed a threat to citizens« life and health.

The restaurant«s operation was temporarily suspended.

«The case of an administrative offense will be transferred for consideration to the Lomonosovsky District Court of Arkhangelsk,» the agency added.

At the restaurant where the schoolchildren from Sverdlovsk Oblast ate, an epidemiological investigation was conducted. Samples of food products, drinking water, and environmental swabs were taken.

The situation was reported to the state sanitary and epidemiological service of Russia. The Investigative Committee of Russia initiated a criminal case on the poisoning of minors.
