Arkhangelsk power grid accident: when will electricity be restored?

Two districts in Arkhangelsk Oblast have been without electricity since morning due to a power grid accident, with restoration expected by afternoon.

Electricity will return to homes in Kholmogorsky and Pinezhsky districts no earlier than 12:00 noon. This was reported by the administration of Pinezhye in connection with a network accident.

Update: district authorities have named a new estimated time for power restoration — 14:00.

According to authorities, the problem occurred on the line between Ugzengya and the settlement of Siya. To fix the accident on the power line, two teams of specialists have been dispatched to Kholmogorsky district — from Pinezhsky district and Arkhangelsk.

«Power engineers are restoring electricity supply to Kholmogorsky and Pinezhsky districts after the outage of the overhead line. Specialists went to the site immediately after receiving a signal about a technological disruption and started work,» — reported 29.RU from the company «Rosseti Severo-Zapad».

In the areas where electricity was lost, schools and kindergartens did not open today, but heating continues to work in the districts. The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS) reported that all boiler houses have been switched to backup power sources.
