More than 40 rescuers worked to extinguish the fire at a sauna in the city of Prokopyevsk, where five minors died during a birthday celebration. The press service of the Emergencies Ministry of Kuzbass on Sunday, February 1, provided photos from the scene.
The photos show a pool where the bodies of two victims were found, as well as tables where the group celebrated birthdays with alcohol and snacks. In some images, melted wires are visible, suggesting the fire might have started due to a short circuit.
According to the latest information, a group of six people gathered in the sauna to celebrate the birthdays of three students. It is presumed that when the fire started, they tried to hide in the steam room and pool, where they suffocated.
