The administrator of the Siberian Bay recreation base in Ust-Ilimsk has been sentenced in the case of the death of a 41-year-old man during a catamaran trip in August 2025. The court found that the employee neglected safety regulations, the joint press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of Irkutsk Oblast reports.
Recall, the man was riding a catamaran with his son, and when they fell into the water, he managed to save the boy but could not get out himself.
The court established that the administrator allowed the man and the boy onto the catamaran without life jackets, did not instruct them on how to operate the vessel, and did not monitor the vacationers from the shore to assist in case of an emergency. He partially admitted guilt.
