Accused Zhilkin recounts tying 9-year-old Pasha
9-year-old Pasha went missing in St. Petersburg on 30 January. According to investigation data, the boy got into a car with an unknown man and after that stopped making contact.
The suspect, 38-year-old Petr Zhilkin, was detained on 2 February in Pskov. He confessed to the murder of the child.
On 3 February, the press service of the Investigative Committee released footage in which Zhilkin describes his actions. The accused stated: «It was definitely in the car. I remember tying the legs and head.» He also showed where his car was parked near the Lenta hypermarket.
According to the investigation, the child died from a blow to the head. In the agency«s press release it is stated: «On the grounds of personal hostile relations that suddenly arose during a conflict with the victim, he attacked the child and punched him in the head. From the injuries sustained, the child died at the scene.»
On the evening of 2 February, Zhilkin indicated a location in Lomonosovsky District where he drowned the boy«s body.
A motion has been filed with the court to place the accused in custody. Currently, examinations of all seized physical evidence are being conducted.
