A nine-year-old girl from Krasnoyarsk sustained a spinal injury while riding an inflatable tube down a slide at a children«s entertainment center in Bratsk. The dispute between the injured child»s parents and the play center«s management has reached the courts, where proceedings are still ongoing. This was reported on the website of the Krasnoyarsk TV channel TVK on 27 January.

The incident occurred back in May 2025. According to the injured girl«s mother Natalya, the family was visiting relatives in Bratsk, and the trip coincided with her daughter»s birthday. They decided to give her a treat—a trip to a play center where she could have fun.

«My child, after sliding down on the tube, suffered a spinal injury. I carried my child in my arms to the nearest soft chairs by the slide, ran to the administrator, and asked them to call an ambulance, to which the administrator replied: »Why, do you really need one?« To that I said that the child cannot get up and this is not normal,» Natalya is quoted as saying in the report.

After some time, they managed to call an ambulance, and the team took the girl to the trauma department. She had a contusion of the thoracic spine, with a compression fracture listed as «under question.» The injured child«s mother linked this to the Bratsk hospital having »an X-ray machine from the Soviet era.«

The parents refused hospitalization in the northern capital of the Angara region and took their daughter home to Krasnoyarsk. A computed tomography scan done there revealed a compression fracture of the thoracic spine.

The dispute between Natalya and the children«s center management went to court. During the hearings, representatives of the defendants claimed that »the mother failed to supervise her child: the child, while sliding down the slide, let go of his hands to wave to her because the woman allegedly asked him to do so.« The woman rejected these accusations and also presented the court with a video that captured the moment of the injury.

«You can see that the employee who pushed my daughter is sitting at the top. My daughter is holding the tube with both hands, and after sliding down and getting injured, she rolls to one side on the tube and cannot get up. You can see the speed at which she flies down, which indicates that the center»s employee disregarded safety rules and pushed the child not «lightly,» as the defendant«s firm is trying to prove, but with considerable force. The video also shows that the child is not waving her hands at me but is holding the tube with both hands,» the woman stated.

The mother claims the girl is still recovering from the severe injury.

The Sverdlovsky District Court of Krasnoyarsk sided with the injured family: the children«s center managers were ordered to pay 300,000 rubles (approx. $3,200 at current rates) in moral damages and were also fined 150,000 rubles (approx. $1,600). The defendants disagreed with this penalty and filed an appeal with the Krasnoyarsk City Court.

According to the Sverdlovsky District Court«s case file, the defendant in the case was the company »Kakie Lyudi« (What People). According to the Rusprofile service, the organization has been registered in Bratsk since June 2024, with its main activity being the organization of recreation and entertainment. The company has three founders—Ruslan Ilyasov, Anton Trukhonenko, and Faridun Sultonzoda (the latter is also the director of »Kakie Lyudi« LLC). They are all connected only through this firm.

The revenue of the company that operated the children«s center in 2024 was 18 million rubles, with a net profit recorded at 468,000 rubles (approx. $5,000).
