55-year-old dies in Pugachyov village wood stove fire

Neighbors called emergency services at 4 AM on February 4 after discovering a house fire in Davydovka village, but a 55-year-old man was found dead inside.

In Pugachyovsky District, a fire broke out in a private home, killing an elderly man. The regional Investigative Committee of Russia (SK) reported the details of the incident on February 4.

The fire occurred on Chapayevskaya Street in the village of Davydovka, Pugachyovsky District, Saratov Oblast. Neighbors discovered the fire and called the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM). According to EMERCOM, the call came in around 4 AM on February 4.

The fire covered an area of 40 m² and was extinguished by a single fire crew. After putting out the flames, rescuers found the body of a 55-year-old man inside the house. The preliminary cause of the fire is overheating of a wood stove.

In Tatishchevo, a similar fire occurred on the evening of February 2, but in that case, cats, a parrot, and a chinchilla died, while the owner and her children escaped. It turned out to be a shelter for animals called «Devoted Souls.» The cause of that fire was an electric meter.
