30-kilometer traffic jam forms on M-7 highway near Nizhny Novgorod

A massive traffic jam has built up on the M-7 highway heading towards Moscow due to ongoing road works.
On the afternoon of February 3, a traffic jam nearly 30 kilometers long formed on the M-7 highway in the Nizhny Novgorod and Vladimir regions. According to drivers, this is due to weather conditions, accidents, and road restrictions.
According to online maps, traffic is difficult on the section from the turn to Volodarsk to Gorokhovets. Segments near the bridge over the Klyazma River are marked in burgundy — road works are continuing there, and traffic towards the capital is organized in the left lane, reports the Moscow — Nizhny Novgorod Highway Administration.
Eyewitnesses are publishing footage of queues of trucks and cars standing in the direction of Moscow.
«People stand there for 10-12 hours every day. Road works have been going on for more than a month, and everyone was passing through normally. Just for some reason, everyone decided to ignore snow removal and road sprinkling. … Heavy trucks can«t climb the hill and stop, blocking traffic», wrote a driver.
Drivers have been complaining about traffic jams that occur on the M-7 highway near the Vladimir region since the end of January.
