19-year-old driver hits scooter in Ulyanovsk, girl injured

On January 21, around 11 p.m. in the Zheleznodorozhny district of Ulyanovsk, a car hit an electric scooter, according to the regional State Traffic Inspectorate (GAI). Preliminary reports indicate that a 19-year-old driver of a VAZ-2114 caught up with the personal mobility device traveling ahead on Inzenskaya Street. The situation was exacerbated by snowfall — visibility was hampered. As a result, a 14-year-old female passenger on the scooter was injured and hospitalized. The scooter rider, a 24-year-old man, was found to be under the influence of alcohol and also required medical attention. Details of the accident are being clarified.

Recall that on September 20, 2025, around 9 p.m. in the Zasviyazhsky district of Ulyanovsk, a scooter rider died. Preliminary reports suggest that a 24-year-old resident, while operating a personal mobility device, failed to yield to a car traveling on the main road at an intersection. This led to a collision with a Nissan Teana sedan, and the scooter rider died at the scene from his injuries.
