15-Year-Old Train Surfer Rides Freight Train in Rtishchevo

A 15-year-old train surfer was detained in Rtishchevo after riding a freight train for several kilometers, and his parents will face penalties for negligence.

In Rtishchevo, Saratov Oblast, Russia, a 15-year-old train surfer rode a freight train for several kilometers and was immediately detained by police. Details of the incident were reported to 164.RU by the linear department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) at the Rtishchevo railway station.

According to police, the teenager hooked onto a freight train at the station «Rtishchevo-1 662 km». He ran up to the train, which was moving at a low speed, and grabbed onto protruding parts of the rear car. In this position, the youth traveled with the train for several kilometers towards Osinnovka, in the direction of Tambov.

Not reaching a kilometer to the next station, he jumped off at the 652 km mark and set off on foot back. At that moment, a police patrol was moving towards him, trying to catch the «train surfer». They detained the 15-year-old teenager. He told MVD officers that he was supposedly coming from his grandfather«s, but this did not help him. He was given a talk about the danger of this mode of transportation and about what consequences await his parents for this.

Officers of the Juvenile Affairs Department (PDN) drew up protocols against the parents for failure to fulfill their duties in the maintenance and upbringing of the minor. The materials on this case were sent to the PDN commission of the Rtishchevsky district, where they will work with the teenager.
