15-Year-Old Girl Hit by Car on Pedestrian Crossing in Ulyanovsk

On January 22, around six in the evening, a 15-year-old girl was hit by a car in the Novospassky District, according to the regional State Traffic Inspectorate. Preliminary reports indicate that the schoolgirl was crossing the road at an unregulated pedestrian crossing when she was struck by a 21-year-old driver of a VAZ 219060. The minor sustained injuries and was hospitalized. Details of the accident are being clarified.

Traffic police officers once again remind drivers of the need to be more attentive and reduce speed when approaching pedestrian crossings. Over the past 24 hours, 17 traffic accidents were registered in the region. One person was injured, and in the others, only vehicles sustained mechanical damage.

Recall that on January 17, around four in the afternoon, in the Zavolzhsky District of Ulyanovsk, a 58-year-old driver, operating a Volkswagen Tiguan crossover, hit a 61-year-old pedestrian. This occurred on Antonov Avenue. The man was walking on the road, in the same direction as traffic. The pedestrian died at the scene of the accident from the injuries sustained.
