15 Killed in Train Accidents in Kurgan Region

In Kurgan Region, 17 people were injured by rolling stock, with 15 of them killed. The South Ural Railway shared this grim statistic for 2025. For comparison, in 2024, 10 people were injured by trains, with six killed. It is noted that three minors in the Trans-Ural region were injured due to being struck by rolling stock and electric shock.

The main causes of accidents (according to investigations) are violations of personal safety rules, being on and crossing railway tracks in unauthorized places.

In total, on the South Ural Mainline in 2025, 32 people died under train wheels and due to electric shock.
