12 injured in Slyudyansky District road accident; criminal case initiated

Twelve people were injured in a major road accident in Slyudyansky District, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) for Irkutsk Oblast reported. A criminal case has been initiated.
The accident occurred today at around 17:00 near the village of Mangutay.

According to preliminary data, two trucks and a Toyota HiAce minibus carrying passengers, which was traveling from Irkutsk to Ulan-Ude, collided.
«At the moment, 12 participants in the incident required medical assistance — the driver and 11 bus passengers,» the MVD said in a statement.
Recall that earlier the governor reported 11 injured, five of whom were hospitalized.
Emergency services are working at the scene, and police are conducting an investigation. Traffic is organized in a reverse pattern.
As reported by the press service of the regional Investigative Committee, a criminal case has been initiated over the road accident under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, «Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements.»
The Slyudyansky District Prosecutor«s Office will also conduct an inspection in the field of ensuring the safety of passenger transportation and will supervise the criminal case.
