10-Year-Old Girl Hit at Pedestrian Crossing in Yekaterinburg
The mother of a 10-year-old girl who was struck by a car in Yekaterinburg is appealing for witnesses to help determine the cause of the accident.

Yesterday at 5:30 p.m. at the pedestrian crossing on Inzhenernaya Street, 45 in Yekaterinburg, a car hit a ten-year-old girl.
Video footage captured by bystanders shows the pedestrian crossing where the 10-year-old girl was struck.
According to the child«s mother Natalya, Dasha is currently in intensive care in serious condition.
Medics diagnosed the victim with leg fractures, lung and head contusions.
Dasha«s coach reported that the girl is involved in synchronized swimming.
As Natalya explained, the driver of the vehicle is trying to get in touch to inquire about the child«s health.
However, the woman was advised not to communicate with him until the investigation is completed.
The girl«s mother thanked the passersby who immediately called an ambulance and covered Dasha with a jacket and a blanket.
«They spared nothing, covered her, brought blankets, and stood until the last moment until the ambulance took us away. I am very grateful to them!» said Natalya.
Relatives are trying to find eyewitnesses to the incident to accurately determine the circumstances of the accident.
According to preliminary data from the traffic police (GIBDD), the 21-year-old driver of a Datsun on-DO did not yield to the pedestrian. The young man«s driving experience is less than a year, during which time he has received two fines. At the time of the accident, he was sober. According to the driver, the collision occurred because he did not notice the girl.
