In Tyumen, management companies have begun sending out messages advising residents not to use tap water for drinking, cooking, or personal hygiene. Readers from various districts told 72.RU’s editorial team about this.

“We draw your attention: the quality of water has deteriorated not only in our residential complex but also in several areas of the city. Do not use the water for drinking or cooking until an official notification of quality normalization arrives. Use bottled water for personal hygiene if possible. If you notice sediment, odor, or cloudiness, stop using tap water and save a sample for possible testing,” the management company’s statement reads.

Such a message was received by residents of apartment buildings on Polevaya Street (Dom Oborony) and Protozanov Street (Tyumenskaya Sloboda).

Earlier, we reported that Rospotrebnadzor (the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) advised boiling drinking water. Residents of Tyumen have been complaining about an unpleasant odor for several days. Rosvodokanal (the water utility) explained that the water quality had significantly deteriorated. This was due to the summer flood and a critical drop in oxygen levels in the river.

Rospotrebnadzor assured that the water meets the standards.
