New Chief Physician Appointed at Voronezh Oncology Center

The chief physician of the Voronezh Regional Scientific and Clinical Oncology Center has become 32-year-old Ruslan Moshurov — the son of the previous head of the center, Ivan Moshurov. This was announced by the medical institution on January 30.

Moshurov Sr. left the position on January 16 — he became the acting rector of Voronezh State Medical University. He had led the oncology center for 14 years, since 2012. His son previously worked as an oncologist in Moscow.

“Undoubtedly, the promising young chief physician will bring his fresh vision to the organization of the oncology service and scientific center entrusted to him,” noted the medical institution.
Ruslan Moshurov was born on February 16, 1993. In 2016, he graduated from the medical faculty of VSMU with honors, then completed a two-year residency at the Moscow Research Oncology Institute named after P. A. Hertsen. From 2018 to 2021, he received a second higher education at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, in the faculty of management with a specialization in «state policy and management».
Since 2018, Moshurov Jr. has been working as an oncologist at the institute named after P. A. Hertsen. He has dealt with issues of transfusiology and liver transplantation. Last year, he defended his dissertation and received the academic degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences. He is also the head of the healthcare committee of the Voronezh Zemlyachestvo (a regional association).
