Yevgeny Smirnov Officially Appointed Chief Bailiff of Kurgan Oblast

Yevgeny Smirnov has shed the «acting» prefix and become the chief bailiff of Kurgan Oblast in the Trans-Ural region, according to a press release from the service.

«In accordance with the order of the director of the Federal Bailiff Service of Russia (FSSP) dated 19 January 2026, the head of the Kurgan Oblast Office of the Federal Bailiff Service – the chief bailiff of Kurgan Oblast has been appointed as Colonel of the Internal Service Yevgeny Aleksandrovich Smirnov,» the press release stated.

As a reminder, on 11 October 2025, Yevgeny Smirnov became the acting head of the Russian FSSP for Kurgan Oblast – the acting chief bailiff of the region. He replaced Irina Uvarova in the post, who is currently under investigation. A criminal case has been opened against her under Part 4 of Article 160 of the Russian Criminal Code («Embezzlement or misappropriation committed by an organized group or on an especially large scale»).

Yevgeny Smirnov began his professional career as a bailiff-executor in the Leninsky division in Nizhny Tagil. In 2015, he became head of the Russian FSSP for the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
