Yekaterinburg Snowstorm: Tyumen to See Light Snow

Neighboring Yekaterinburg has been hit by a blizzard, and local forecasters even issued a storm warning due to the bad weather. The Uralupravtodor (Ural Highway Administration) has also switched to high-alert mode. But will the snowstorm reach Tyumen? We asked experts.
It turned out that the cause of this snowy weather is a southern cyclone stuck over Perm Krai. Its effects will soon be felt by residents of Tyumen as well.
«Light snow is expected in Tyumen on February 4 and the morning of February 5. Snow cover increase of 3-4 centimeters. Then on February 6 it will cool down to -22°C (-8°F),» commented Ilya Vinshtein, a weather forecaster and author of the “Pogoda 72” project, to a 72.RU journalist.
Whether this forecast will come true remains to be seen. In the meantime, snow removal equipment is on round-the-clock duty on federal highways to ensure uninterrupted safe traffic.
Earlier, we reported who and how weather forecasts are made for residents of Tyumen Oblast. Why meteorologists’ predictions do not always come true — read in this exclusive article.
Recall, previously we published a preliminary weather forecast for February in Tyumen. Most likely, our city should have comfortable weather for our latitudes.
