Yekaterinburg Snowstorm: Tyumen to Get Light Snow

A small southern cyclone stalled over Perm Krai has caused bad weather in the Urals. In Yekaterinburg, the cyclone triggered a snowstorm. Local forecasters issued a storm warning, and Uralavtodor (Ural Highway Administration) switched to a high-alert mode.

Residents of Tyumen are wondering whether the snowstorm will reach their city. According to Ilya Vinstein, a meteorologist and author of the «Weather 72» project, light snow is expected in Tyumen on February 4 and the morning of February 5. «Snow cover will increase by 3-4 centimeters. Then on February 6 it will get colder to -22 degrees Celsius (-8°F),» the specialist said. Snow removal equipment is operating around the clock on federal highways to ensure uninterrupted and safe traffic.
