Residents of four dilapidated buildings on Bestuzhev-Marlinsky Street and Baikalova Street in Yakutsk complained to the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, about violations of their housing rights. He ordered the regional investigative committee to check the situation. This was reported on February 5 in the Telegram channel of the Investigative Committee«s Information Center.
According to the complainants, they have not been provided with comfortable housing to replace the unsuitable dwellings for a long time. Some agreed to a monetary compensation, but it was never paid to them.
Bastrykin ordered the head of the Investigative Department for Yakutia, Vitaly Kondratenko, to restore their housing rights. In addition, he ordered the regional investigative committee, together with the Federal Security Service (FSB) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) of Russia, to check the situation with the dilapidated housing stock across Yakutia for crimes related to negligence by officials.
It was not possible to obtain a comment from the Department of Housing Relations of Yakutsk (DZHO) and the press service of the city administration at the time of publication.
Alexander Bastrykin scheduled a repeated reception for the applicants, taking personal control over the execution of all orders.
Earlier, Bastrykin ordered the initiation of a criminal case regarding the violation of the rights of residents of an apartment building in the village of Chulman. Also, a mother of many children from Yakutsk complained that she was living with four children in a dilapidated two-story wooden house on Nekrasov Street, 2/2.
