Yakutsk building crumbles, residents relocated

A house at 43/3 Novo-Karyernaya Street in Yakutsk began to crumble, and residents were urgently relocated to emergency housing. Officially, the house has been unfit for habitation for two years, the press service of the city administration told a 14.RU correspondent.
The house is a departmental dormitory, previously housing employees of DOSAAF (the Voluntary Society for Cooperation with the Army, Aviation, and Fleet of Russia, DOSAAF) of Yakutia. It was built in 1987. The walls are concrete, with two floors and one entrance. All residential premises were declared unfit for habitation on 18 April 2024, and it has not yet been transferred to municipal ownership.
The city administration conducted an on-site inspection on 19 July, during which it became clear that the building«s condition was deteriorating. According to published footage in the Telegram channel »Sakhaday,« it literally began to crumble. Families with children were immediately provided with housing from the emergency housing fund.
Authorities discovered that some of the premises were occupied by tenants and relatives of the owners, and some of them moved in with relatives and acquaintances on their own. Another eight apartments in the building still belong to DOSAAF, but no one lives in them.
The land plot on which the house stood is officially registered as an industrial base. The land still officially belongs to DOSAAF, and accordingly, this organization is responsible for its repairs.
