Winter Views of Old Sarepta Museum-Reserve

The surroundings of the Old Sarepta Historical and Ethnographic Museum-Reserve in the Krasnoarmeysky district of Volgograd appeared in winter attire in photographs by Alexey Polyakov. This corner of the city, unique for its European cultural features, continues its vibrant life even in the cold season.

The museum complex includes 28 buildings erected back in the Tsaritsyn period. The colony was founded by the Herrnhuters (Moravian Brethren), who sought refuge from persecution by the Catholic Church. Among the first settlers were people from various European countries:

- Germany
- Czech Republic
- Denmark
- Netherlands
- Switzerland
Although many residents of Volgograd have heard of Old Sarepta, the architectural ensemble in Saxon Baroque style, located in the Krasnoarmeysky district, is not visited by everyone due to its distance from the center.
Nevertheless, this place regularly attracts the attention of creative people. Besides Alexey Polyakov, winter views of Sarepta were recently photographed by Yulia Voropayeva as well.
