Muzeynaya Street appeared on city plans at the beginning of the 20th century — as early as 1917 — and has since retained its name. Over this time, it has become not just part of the historic center, but a space with a vibrant cultural biography.

One of the key architectural highlights of the street is the building of the former first women«s gymnasium. It was built in the late 19th century and immediately stood out against the surrounding development. The design by Omsk architect Eduard Ezhet combined various stylistic approaches — from eclecticism to motifs of ancient Russian architecture. Within the walls of the gymnasium, future mentors and class ladies received their education; later, in Soviet times, an agricultural-pedagogical educational institution operated here. In the 1920s, the building also became a venue for cultural events — meetings and performances by famous writers took place here.

Today, Muzeynaya is part of a large city project that Omsk residents know as «Winter Lyubinsky.» It is implemented by the Ministry of Culture of Omsk Oblast, and every winter the street turns into one of the main festive points of the city. This season, the project has the concept «Omsk Patterns» — in the New Year«s decor, elements of the region»s cultural code are reflected: traditions, architecture, gastronomy, tourism, and creativity.

It is important to understand that «Winter Lyubinsky» is not only Muzeynaya itself. The festive space also covers Lenin Street — from Partizanskaya to Internatsionalnaya, as well as Dzerzhinsky and Altunin squares, the area near the M. A. Vrubel Museum, and a new youth space — the City Garden.

In the pre-New Year weeks and during the holidays, pedestrian zones are transformed: light garlands, thematic art objects, ice sculptures, and festive installations appear. Fairytale characters stroll along the street — from the familiar Ded Moroz (Father Frost) and Snegurochka (Snow Maiden) to Baba-Yaga, Koshchei, knights, bears, and exotic birds.

During the New Year holidays, traffic on Lyubinsky Prospekt is completely closed — the street becomes a large pedestrian zone for walks, meetings, and photos. And even after the holidays end, the decorations are not removed in a hurry: the winter atmosphere remains here for a long time.

Muzeynaya is an excellent starting point for participating in the special project «Winter with NGS55». Take a selfie against the backdrop of festive installations or historical buildings, upload the photo in the comments under the post on Telegram — and you will be one step closer to the prizes.
