A state of emergency was in effect in the Murmansk region from 25 to 27 January 2026. It was introduced to allow the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) agencies and power services to quickly restore electricity supply after accidents at facilities of PJSC Rosseti North-West.

Under the law, citizens can receive a one-time financial assistance only if their living conditions are disrupted for more than two consecutive days. This can happen, for example, during power, heating, or water outages.

In the Murmansk region, such problems were avoided during the emergency: electricity was restored promptly, and emergency rolling reconnections of homes were carried out when necessary.

Temporary accommodation and support points were set up, but no requests from residents were received. The situation remains under the control of EMERCOM: if any homes remain without electricity, heating, or water for more than two days, a commission will inspect the situation and decide on payments.

The Main Directorate of EMERCOM warns: scammers are already sending fake messages about «payments» on behalf of housing and utilities services. Clicking such links can lead to theft of money and data from the Gosuslugi portal. Information should only be verified through official sources.

Recall that fraudsters are offering residents of the Murmansk region «compensation for the emergency».
