The weekend is upon us, so residents and guests of Stavropol can relax after a hard work week. To make these days memorable and interesting, the city has prepared many events. The editorial staff of 26.RU has compiled the traditional events guide.

You can watch performances, attend lectures and exhibitions, or dance at concerts and parties—there«s something for everyone. There are both paid and free events.

Events

Student Friday (18+)

A friendly vibe, a January evening, and music. DZ and CROW_ATKA will perform.

Lecture «Breaking the Boundary of Hades: Impossible Returns in Myths and Literature of the Ancient World» (16+)

For the people of antiquity, death was not absolute oblivion; it was everywhere, and the boundaries between the world of the living and the underworld seemed frighteningly thin. In the human consciousness, ghosts and seers were as real as the Olympic gods. Guests will discuss plots of ancient literature—from Homer«s »Odyssey« to the poems of Marcus Annaeus Lucanus.

Exhibition «Stavropol Region Liberated» (12+)

For the anniversary of the liberation of Stavropol and the region, the exhibition «Stavropol Region Liberated» has returned in an updated form and been supplemented with real witnesses of the battles in the Caucasus: casings from German weapons, steel helmets, an officer«s folding knife, shell casings, fragments of combat vehicles.

Fairy Tale Therapy for the Youngest (6+)

These are interactive sessions with children that help correct their behavior, develop emotional intelligence, and foster a culture of mutual understanding between people. Through a chosen story, a specific situation that a child might have encountered is played out. The fairy tale characters are endowed with the traits of real people, and conflicts always have a logical solution.

Thematic Tour «Heroes of Epics and Tales» (6+)

Epic heroes could boast not only strength. Volga knew the language of beasts and birds, and Dobrynya Nikitich was a polyglot and played the gusli (a stringed instrument). There were also women among the heroes, and sometimes they surpassed famous strongmen in duels. Visitors will find out who our ancestors admired, «peek» into prehistoric cities, and see 3D reconstructions of battles.

Quest «Clues from the Past» (12+)

During the quest, guests will be able to uncover the secrets of ancient names, learn what stories are hidden behind them and how they were formed over centuries, explore ancient belongings—notebooks from 800 years ago. Participants will also immerse themselves in the atmosphere of Ancient Rus and discover unique writing tools, decipher an ancient birch bark inscription.

Master Class «Fragrant Mood» (12+)

In the master class, participants will create their own solid (dry) perfumes in original packaging and immerse themselves in the magical atmosphere of scent creation. A librarian will introduce books on the properties of various herbs and aromas used in the perfume-making process, and an experienced master will share secrets for composing unusual, attractive blends, talk about scent compatibility, and the properties of essential oils and natural wax.

Talk with a Priest «On Family Holidays and Traditions» (6+)

The rector of the Church of St. Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow, in Pyatigorsk, Father Kirill Khlynov, will meet with schoolchildren and hold a talk dedicated to the role of civil holidays in the life of a Christian. The clergyman will explain why the church and believers celebrate secular holiday dates, how they relate to spiritual values and the memory of the people.

Master Class «Acrylic + Gold Leaf» (12+)

In a creative setting, an experienced master will reveal the secrets of working with materials, teaching how to create a painting with gold leaf, even if the participant has no artistic experience.

Tour «Unfamiliar Familiar Route» (16+)

To get to know Lermontovka (the library) better, learn its history, and the bright pages of the oldest public library in the North Caucasus, a separate tour will be conducted by a qualified guide.

Guests will participate in an interactive walk with many creative, intellectual, and educational tasks. Specialists will tell about the library«s history and its unique collections.

Stand-up Show (18+)

Comedians will perform their material and lift the guests« spirits. Seats are allocated on a »first-come, first-served« basis regarding proximity to the stage. A table is designed for 2, 4, or 6 persons.

Concert «Jazz and More» (6+)

The youth of Stavropol Region invites pop music fans to immerse themselves in an atmosphere of creativity and inspiration, delve into a world of passionate melodies, emotional improvisations, and lively rhythm. The program will feature both classic jazz standards and popular pop compositions by domestic and foreign authors.

Concert by the Pop Group «New Tone» (12+)

The traditional holiday parade towards the end of January smoothly transitions into Tatiana«s Day, reminding of the approaching spring and giving reason to once again confess love to a woman. There will be pop-rock from the 1990s–2000s: songs by Agutin, groups »Sekret«, »Rondo«, »Gorky Park«, »Otpetie Moshenniki«, etc.

«Geese-Swans» (6+)

A girl promised her parents that she would look after her little brother when they went to the city fair. But she didn«t keep her promise: she got carried away playing with her friends and lost sight of her brother. Baba Yaga sent geese-swans, her faithful servants, and they carried the boy away to Yaga.

«Passions According to Torchalov» (16+)

The action of the play takes place on the brink of another world, where the heroes must look into themselves and deal with the baggage of life«s mistakes. In a bustling world, in pursuit of a elusive future, we increasingly miss the present.

«Evenings on a Farm Near Dikanka» (12+)

Viewers will immerse themselves in the amazing, humorous, and amusing world described by Nikolai Vasilyevich Gogol. Characters familiar from childhood will come to life on the theater stage and draw viewers into a whirlwind of incredible twists and events that occurred on the eve of Christmas on a snow-covered farm without a name, where the nearest landmark is Dikanka. The venerable Solokha will welcome guests, her son Vakula—strive for the love of the beloved beauty Oksana, and the devil—mischief, do mischief, and involuntarily help Vakula.
