Water Tested After St. Petersburg School Closure
After an outbreak of intestinal infection at a school in Nevsky District, specialists took tap water samples for analysis.

Cases of acute intestinal infection were detected among students and staff at School No. 39 in the Nevsky District of St. Petersburg. The educational institution was temporarily switched to remote learning and closed for disinfection.
Rospotrebnadzor organized an inspection of the tap water. Earlier, from 30 January, Vodokanal had been carrying out work near the school to eliminate a fault in the cold water supply network.
On 4 February, water samples were taken jointly with the supervisory authority. «Some indicators have already been checked and they meet SanPiN [sanitary regulations] requirements. Results for others will come later,» the press service of Vodokanal reported on 5 February.
According to Rospotrebnadzor, seven people have been hospitalized, and norovirus has been laboratory-confirmed in three of the sick.
