After a period of abnormal frosts, when temperatures in the Volgograd region reached -30°C (-22°F), forecasters are promising a quick warming. Already on Thursday, January 29, thermometers will show positive values.

Geomagnetic conditions are forecast to remain stable with little activity expected in the coming days.

However, today the region will still endure a day of cold, especially in the area. Tomorrow, temperatures are expected to rise from -20°C (-4°F) to -3°C (27°F). On Thursday afternoon in Volgograd, the forecast is for -1 to +1°C (30 to 34°F).

  • In Volgograd: night -4…-6°C (25…21°F), day -1…+1°C (30…34°F), southeast to south wind 7-12 m/s.
  • In the region: night -1…-6°C (30…21°F), with clearings down to -12°C (10°F), day -3…+2°C (27…36°F), wind 7-12 m/s with gusts up to 14 m/s.

Along with the warmth, precipitation will come to the region. In the area, light snow with rain is expected, while in Volgograd no significant precipitation is foreseen. Fog and ice are also possible.

Moreover, for the second half of the week, the approach of a snow cyclone from Europe is forecast. It may cause blizzards, heavy precipitation, and wind in the Volgograd region.

As for the geomagnetic situation, it is expected to be stable. Sensitive people may feel unwell on the morning of January 28 and the night of January 29.
