Walks on ice continue in St. Petersburg

The weather in St. Petersburg softened after the frosty weekend, but this did not stop the brave souls who continue to stroll on the frozen surface of rivers and canals. On Tuesday, February 3, the sun joined them, creating a picturesque scene.
By noon, the cloudiness dispersed, and the city filled with soft light. Although the air temperature remained low, the sun«s rays began to warm slightly.
The period of such ice walks may soon come to an end. According to weather forecasters, a weakening of the cold is expected next week, which will make the ice thinner and more dangerous.
Rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) strongly urge people to refrain from going onto the ice of the Neva River, its tributaries, and other water bodies within the city. The agency warns of a real threat to life and health.
Instead of risky walks on ice, specialists recommend admiring winter landscapes from safe shores.
