Voronezh Residential Complex Flooded in Freeze

The new residential complex Sputnik in the Severny District on Akademika Konopatova Street — not far from the elite Megashkola school — lost water on Wednesday, 4 February. According to local residents on city social media, the taps went dry around 7 a.m. Meanwhile, huge puddles spread across the street, instantly turning into icy lakes in the 30-degree frost (-22°F).

«No equipment, no workers, no water delivery. Cars are literally freezing into parking spots,» residents write, attaching epic photos as proof.

Rosvodokanal said they are not to blame:

— Our specialists inspected the networks. The water supply and wastewater lines at this address are external, not owned by us. Rosvodokanal did not shut off the water at the residential complex and is not carrying out any work.

Residents were advised to contact the management company. The buildings in Sputnik are serviced by management company Era IT, which is linked to the complex«s developer, company K.I.T., through its director and founder Vyacheslav Kulikov. The dispatcher of the management company confirmed by phone that the accident is theirs. Asked how long people will be without water, he sighed: «Until it»s fixed.» He assured that a tractor is working but the location of the burst has not yet been found. Residents were informed of the wait «until it«s fixed» in the complex»s VK group.
