Volunteers to Patrol Magnitogorsk Streets in Freezing Weather

On the night of January 23, volunteers from the search and rescue squad «ALFA-SPAS» in Magnitogorsk will be helping those freezing on the streets. This was announced on Thursday, January 22, in the squad«s official group.
Volunteers plan to patrol from 10:00 PM to 2:00 AM.
«The route passes through public transport stops, central city streets, and public gathering places (parks, squares, etc.),» stated the «ALFA SPAS» publication. «We pay attention to citizens who, for various reasons, are stranded on the street and may freeze, and if necessary, offer them our help and warmth.»
Residents were asked to pay attention to children and elderly people and inquire if they need help. Assistance can be sought by calling 8 963 094 50 85 (the squad«s number) and 112 (the unified emergency dispatch service).
Note that today, due to the frost, lessons for schoolchildren in both shifts have been canceled. Earlier, the Magnitogorsk State Traffic Inspectorate recommended that drivers limit trips out of town until January 25, during the abnormal frosts. The traffic police published phone numbers and promised round-the-clock assistance. If necessary, car owners will be helped with calling a technical service or tow truck.
