Volotovsky Man Sentenced for Repeat Drunk Driving
The Soletsky District Court sentenced 49-year-old Alexei Malyshev, who was found guilty of repeated drunk driving. He was sentenced to actual imprisonment with confiscation of his vehicle.

In October 2025, Alexei Malyshev, who already had a criminal record for a similar offense, again got behind the wheel of a Ford Mondeo while intoxicated. On Zavodskaya Street in the settlement of Volot, Novgorod Oblast, he was stopped by traffic police officers (DPS).
Earlier, in 2025, Malyshev was convicted of drunk driving and sentenced to 9 months of imprisonment in a general-regime penal colony and a 5-year driving ban. Despite this, he violated the law again.
At the hearing of the Soletsky District Court, where the prosecution was represented by an officer of the Volotovsky District Prosecutor«s Office, the defendant fully admitted his guilt. The court classified his actions under Part 2 of Article 264.1 of the Russian Criminal Code.
Taking into account the prosecutor«s position, the court sentenced Malyshev to 1 year of imprisonment in a general-regime penal colony. In addition, he was banned from driving for 5 years and 6 months. The Ford Mondeo was confiscated to the state.
The verdict has not yet entered into legal force and may be appealed by the parties in accordance with the procedure established by law.
