Volgograd Woman Wins Million After Rescuing Lottery Ticket
A Volgograd woman won one million rubles (approximately $10,000 at current rates) after her husband accidentally discarded the winning lottery ticket while cleaning.

At the end of December, shortly before New Year, Natalia, a resident of Volgograd Oblast, won one million rubles (approximately $10,000 at current rates) in the lottery.
As reported by the press service of the National Lottery, the woman bought a ticket for the first time in her life, inspired by the story of another winner.
«I heard in the news a story about a man who dreamed that he won the lottery. He bought tickets, marked the numbers from his dream, and became a multi-millionaire. Sitting at work, I remembered: I also recently dreamed that I won the lottery. Well, I thought, maybe I»ll be lucky too? I bought a ticket — and here it is, the win,« Natalia recounts.
However, the win was nearly lost: Natalia«s husband, while cleaning, threw the ticket into the trash bin. The woman had to retrieve it from there to check.
«I had to get the tickets out of the trash, checked, and there was the win,» says Natalia. «We were just planning to do renovations — that»s what we«ll spend it on.»
