Volgograd woman retrieves lottery ticket from bin, wins million

A woman from Volgograd region retrieved a lottery ticket from a garbage bin and won a million rubles. Her millionaire husband had decided to throw the ticket away, not suspecting what sum he and his wife could have lost.

The story with a happy ending happened in late December, just a few days before the New Year. As reported by the press service of the nationwide state lottery «National Lottery», Natalya bought a ticket, won for the first time in her life, but... the win had to be literally rescued.

«I heard a story in the news about a man who dreamed that he won the lottery. And he bought tickets, crossed out those numbers from his dream and became a multi-millionaire. I»m sitting at work, I remember: I also recently dreamed that I won the lottery. Well, I thought, maybe I«ll get lucky too? I bought a ticket—and here it is, the win,» says Natalya.

Natalya did not see the winning notification, but the woman did not suspect that her husband, while tidying up, would want to get rid of the ticket and throw it in the garbage bin.

«I had to get the tickets out of the trash, I checked, and there was the win,» says Natalya. «We were just planning to do some renovations—so we»ll use it for that.«
