Volgograd sees spontaneous memorial for seventh-grader's death
A spontaneous memorial has appeared under the balcony of a five-story building on Kanatnikov Prospect in the Krasnoarmeysky district of Volgograd, where a 14-year-old girl died: concerned residents bring flowers, plush toys, and children«s books there.
Recall that the tragedy occurred last Thursday, January 22. A 14-year-old girl fell from a fifth-floor window and later died in the intensive care unit of Hospital No. 15.
No official information has been provided on the causes and circumstances of the girl«s death. According to a source familiar with the situation, the girl was raised by her mother and stepfather in a well-off family.
The girl«s mother categorically denied rumors of alleged problems in personal relationships in a conversation with a V1.RU correspondent. She clarified that the investigation into the case is still ongoing.
— Right now, all my emotions are switched off, I«m like a robot, — she said. — The memorial is at the place where she fell. I light a lamp there, bring chocolates.
Meanwhile, classmates of the deceased say that at the school where the girl studied, class hours were suddenly held for children, discussing the need to observe increased safety measures when at heights, near windows, and on balconies.
