Volgograd residents lose hot water in -22°C (-8°F) freeze

In Volgograd, residents of the Verkhnezarechensky settlement in the Traktorozavodsky district have been left without water in the bitter cold. According to them, there has been no hot water since yesterday evening, and repair work has not yet begun.
The complaint came from city residents living on Kostycheva Street. They say that when they complain to dispatch services, they are told that nothing can be done to help.

There has been no water on Kostycheva Street (one lane of the entire street) since yesterday evening. A leak from the ground near house No. 97. According to them, dozens of houses, from No. 65 to No. 98, are affected by the shutoff.
V1.RU has inquired with the press service of «Concessions of Water Supply» about the reason for the hot water shutdown, whether employees have been dispatched to the site, and when the water will be restored to residents. Later, the department briefly responded that restoration work on the water pipeline will be carried out in the near future.
The day before, residents of an apartment building at 7a Port-Saida Street were left without heat and hot water, in the very center of Volgograd. According to the residents, the heat exchanger in the building has failed, and replacing it is very expensive. The management company assures that they wanted to replace the old unit several years ago, but did not receive support from residents at that time.
