Volgograd Police Search for Teenager Who Assaulted Student on Playground
The aunt of the student who was brutally beaten claims there are delays in the investigation. She says that since the beginning of November, the suspect has not been brought to the police station: either she wasn«t at home, or she didn»t show up as agreed.
Recall that the incident in question occurred on the evening of 14 July 2025 near the Voroshilovsky shopping center. According to the victim«s relative, a group of minor offenders didn»t like that the student wanted to reprimand one of them for relieving herself near the playground.
«One of the girls ran up to her and started making demands. She says: «What, were you filming me on your phone?» She didn«t have time to answer because almost immediately she was hit in the face. She jumped up, started running away, they caught her again and started beating her. The most active one shouted after her: »If you go to the police — I«ll kill you next time, everyone in this area knows me,»» the relative said.
The attacker was detained two days later, but was not held accountable — it was necessary to wait for the end of treatment to determine the severity of the injuries. According to the aunt, the doctors« conclusion appeared at the end of September, but the case was only opened at the beginning of November.
«We were only called for questioning in December, and then everything stalled. It«s already January, and we still don»t know what«s happening with the case. And the investigator can»t catch her: either she«s not at home, or she doesn»t show up. It looks very bad, especially since we were cooperating: we helped with documentation and with the forensic medical examination to speed things up,» the relative states.
A V1.RU correspondent managed to contact the investigator as well. She confirmed that apprehending the teenager has been delayed, but promised to resolve this issue soon.
«I am personally interested in closing the case as soon as possible, especially since the suspect is a minor. Management is aware, this issue is raised daily with the superiors. We expect her to be brought in this week. If she doesn«t come — we will arrange for her to be compelled to appear. The problem is her age, because of which it»s not advisable to bring her alone and a legal representative is needed,» the police officer said.
The V1.RU editorial office has asked the press service of the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (GU MVD) to comment on the situation from their side.
