Activist Sergey Ostrovsky reported that the round hall of the Main Post Office at 6 Mira Street in Volgograd should be vacated by the end of February 2026.

Back in December 2025, Ostrovsky informed about the possible sale of the premises, expressing fears that the historical space would be given over to a restaurant or liquor store. Russian Post then confirmed its intention to put the building up for auction, without disclosing the reasons for this decision.

Now, the activist claims that the second floor of the building may be occupied by the Volgograd Regional Office of Roskomnadzor (the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media). According to employees, they have already been told to prepare for eviction.

Ostrovsky is quoted as saying:

«They were told to prepare for eviction from the round hall, supposedly by the end of February... They complain that they don»t understand how to conduct work processes now. And they are vacating the second floor; Roskomnadzor bought it.«

The regional office of Roskomnadzor denied this information.

«We are still in place, I have not received such information,»
stated the reception office of the head of the agency.

The press service of Russian Post also doubted the reliability of the statements but promised to check the information. Official inquiries have been sent to both agencies to clarify the circumstances.
