Volgograd grapples with aftermath of brief but heavy snowfall

In early February, snow suddenly fell in Volgograd. Within a few hours, the city was literally buried. Later, meteorologists would say that overnight, the city received 60% of the monthly precipitation norm. The intensity was so strong that a decision was made to close roads passing through the Volgograd region. In the city, road services cleaned the main city highways all night to release public transport onto the streets, and asked drivers of private vehicles not to use personal cars unless absolutely necessary. Street sweepers also had a lot of work. And in the literal sense of the word. And if some had snowplows readily available, others had to clear the entrusted territory using the good old shovel. We look at how Volgograd survived a normal winter snowfall.
