In a five-story building on Angarskaya Street in the Dzerzhinsky district of Volgograd, water supply was partially cut off for almost a week. The cause was an accident in an apartment whose owner residents had not seen for about seven years.
Residents piled up dirty dishes due to the water outage.
A rotten water pipe was actively flooding the apartment and the entrance. To stop the leak, it was necessary to shut off the water inside that apartment, but entering without police authorization was impossible.
The management company OOO «ZhEU na Angarskom» filed an application to break open the door. However, the approval process took several days. «We need to shut off the pipes right inside the apartment, but no one can get in without a local police officer,» one of the residents explained.
The emergency service could not provide even approximate timelines for restoring the water supply. «I don«t know when. Not even approximately. Whatever they decide over there — that»s when they«ll turn it on,» employees reported.
A resident who had sought help later said that the water supply in the entrance was finally restored after the issue of opening the apartment was resolved.
