Volgograd after February snowstorm: consequences of snowfall

In early February, Volgograd was hit by intense snowfall. In just a few hours, the city«s streets were covered with a thick layer of snow.

According to meteorologists, about 60% of the average monthly precipitation fell overnight. Due to the high intensity, several highways in the Volgograd region had to be temporarily closed.

In the city, road services cleared the main thoroughfares all night to ensure public transport operation. Drivers were asked not to use personal cars unless absolutely necessary.

Street cleaners also had more work: some had access to machinery, while others had to clear snow with traditional shovels. This is how the city coped with the winter bad weather.
