Vladivostok authorities have set the timeline for dismantling the New Year«s town on Revolution Fighters Square. Work to take down the holiday structures will begin on February 2, the mayor»s office reported.

As clarified by the city administration, the New Year«s town will be removed in stages, but there are no plans to leave individual elements »until it warms up«. All objects will be dismantled, including the main Christmas tree, illumination, and the skating rink.

The mayor«s office explained that there is no point in delaying the work due to weather conditions. According to the forecast, around 0 degrees Celsius (32°F) is expected in Vladivostok by February 4, and positive temperatures could accelerate the wear of the structures and affect the safety of residents.

The concept for celebrating the new year, 2026, is «Like in Childhood». This year, Vladivostok took first place in the competition for the best New Year«s square decoration. The city received a prize of 3 million rubles (approximately $30,000 at current rates), which will be used to improve urban infrastructure. In second place was Dalnegorsk, and in third — Chuguyevsky District.

Earlier, the Vladivostok mayor«s office presented a large-scale plan for developing the legendary Shamora Beach in Lazurnaya Bay. By 2030, warm pools and a new promenade should appear there. Details can be found via the link.
