The scandal surrounding a video by blogger Anastasia from St. Petersburg, who criticized Vladivostok after a year of living in the city, has taken a new turn. This time, local blogger Alexander, author of the Telegram channel «SuperSasha», has issued a public response, and his reaction quickly spread across social media and news outlets.

According to Alexander, the St. Petersburg woman«s videos came across his general Telegram feed after they had already sparked a wave of heated discussions and sharp criticism. The blogger admitted that at first he was also »a bit triggered«, but then he decided to look at the situation more broadly and even agreed with some of the complaints.

Alexander noted that Anastasia«s main mistake was the lack of preparation for the move. In his opinion, one should not go to Vladivostok directly from St. Petersburg.

«First you have to live somewhere in Yakutsk or in a seaside village — then by contrast Vladivostok will not seem so expensive, so cold, and cabbage delivery will not seem like a tragedy,» the blogger said ironically.

At the same time, he acknowledged that the blogger from St. Petersburg is right about many things: prices in the city are high, traffic jams are serious, the climate is harsh, and distances are long. However, as Alexander emphasized, Vladivostok is not a city for everyone.

«I wanted to record a few episodes on the topic of how well we live in Vladivostok, and that people shouldn»t move here because it«s already crowded for us. But she is right, of course, on all counts — about prices, traffic jams, how cold it is here, and how hungry, but also right that here you must either be born or come from harsher conditions,» he noted, adding that the very fact that Anastasia lived here for a year deserves respect.

The local blogger built most of his video response on sharp, provocative, and deliberately hyperbolic humor. Alexander stated that Vladivostok is a place where «they don»t order delivery during icy conditions«, where without money »they don«t whine, but live more simply», and with money — «they fly to Thailand». He also emphasized that locals have long been accustomed to high prices, harsh weather, and everyday difficulties.

A separate section of his video was devoted to comparing the «capital» consumer culture with Far Eastern endurance. According to him, Vladivostok is a city where you can do without trendy coffee shops, expensive fitness clubs, and services «like in St. Petersburg», because the ability to adapt is valued here.

In the finale, Alexander unexpectedly changed his tone and stated that the whole story with the St. Petersburg blogger only emphasized the contrast between newcomers and locals more strongly. He expressed particular admiration for the women of Vladivostok, calling them «iron and steel». According to him, local women combine work, sometimes more than one job, business, raising children, and extreme hobbies — from mountains and motorcycles to sea and sky.

«All this lavender story from the northern capital, of course, pales in comparison to the iron and steel characters of the local women. I cannot say the weaker sex, because the weaker sex, apparently, is either somewhere else, or we, all the men, are the weaker sex,» Alexander summarized.
