Villages Near Yaroslavl Lose Power Due to Technical Failure

A technical failure on power equipment caused outages in several villages near Yaroslavl, prompting the deployment of backup systems.
Due to an accident, several settlements in the Yaroslavl district were left without electricity. This was reported on January 24 by district head Alexei Mikhailov.
«The interruption in power supply to part of the settlements in the Karabikha territorial administration is linked to a technological failure on 10 kV equipment,» clarified Alexei Mikhailov.
According to him, four crews from Yarenergo (Yaroslavl Energy Company) were dispatched to the site: 18 people and 6 units of equipment.
«Some consumers have been switched to backup schemes, and the village of Shchedrino will be connected from a backup power source of 400 kW,» clarified the head of the Yaroslavl district.
He estimated the restoration time for noon on January 24. At 12:15, Yarenergo reported that 95% of residents in the village of Shchedrino and adjacent settlements are connected via backup power supply schemes. This included the use of backup power sources.
«To connect the remaining 5% of consumers in Shchedrino, another backup power source with a capacity of 100 kVA has been sent. Also, at present, Yarenergo energy workers are restoring the main power supply scheme,» clarified the company.
Energy workers also warned that after the work is completed, brief interruptions are possible. They are related to switching back to the main power supply scheme.
Update as of January 24, 18:29
