Valery Sukhikh highlights role of municipal journalists in promoting local topics
The Legislative Assembly of Perm Krai has announced the start of accepting applications for the «Law and Society in Prikamye» award. This year the competition will be held for the eighth time.
The award is presented annually for contributions to the development of journalism and informational coverage of the activities of representative bodies of Perm Krai. Journalists from print and electronic media, as well as online publications, are invited to participate.
According to the speaker of the regional parliament, Valery Sukhikh, journalists from regional and municipal editorial offices daily provide residents of Prikamye with a comprehensive picture of the socio-political life of the region.
«The geography of the competition is expanding every year: today, alongside regional media, journalists from municipalities are participating more actively. Thanks to their professionalism, they manage to promote topics important for their territories in the overall regional agenda,» emphasized Valery Sukhikh.
The competition includes eight categories: regional print and electronic media, online publications, photography and photo reportage, municipal print and electronic media, debut of the year, and youth agenda. For this year«s competition, publications, photo, and video materials released in 2025 are accepted. To participate, it is necessary to fill out an application via the link.
Applications are accepted until March 1, 2026. When determining winners, objectivity and accuracy of materials, relevance of topics, as well as presentation skills are taken into account. The names of the award laureates will be announced in April.
The «Law and Society in Prikamye» award was established by the Legislative Assembly for representatives of all media in Perm Krai. Over seven years, more than 1,500 works have been submitted to the competition from authors and editorial offices. Annually, municipal editorial offices lead in the number of applications.
